Mentoring Program

Our mentoring program is in Partnership with the Baltimore City Public Schools.

SWM hold sessions in the Baltimore City Public Schools mentoring, teaching and modeling a new attitude, mind-set, and outlook for middle school girls.  Professional trained clergy and laypersons sow back into the lives of our young girls through a curriculum entitled “Choices”

This is a year long program focusing on:

* Communication Skills                                           *   Career opportunities/goals
* Risk Factors                                                           *   Conflict Resolution
*  Peer Pressure                                                       *   Building Self-Esteem and Character
*  Anti-Bullying                                                        *   Etiquette
* Leadership Development                                    *   Building Self-Esteem
*  Academic Tutoring                                              *   Anger Management
*  Substance Abuse Education                              *   Building Self-Esteem

SWM is pulling down the strongholds of crime, drugs, alcohol, teen pregnancy, generational imprisonment, anger and low self-esteem that is destroying the lives of our young girls. The Bible reminds us to "Tell the older women to be reverent in behavior, not to be slanderers or slaves to drink; they are to teach what is good, so that they may encourage the young women . . ." -- Titus 2:3-4

I had a vision to organize a group-mentoring program where older Christian women could sow and help teen girls develop into healthy young adults. The vision is to teach them how to make better choices, develop high standards, self-esteem and to present themselves as living ladies.

Choices is a way for girls to participate in sessions that addressed such issues as setting goals, etiquette, career planning, volunteerism, the art of communication etc.
